Good Karma Gardens
Nourish LA Program
Our mission is to cultivate a culture of generosity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through the creation of Pay It Forward Good Karma Gardens. We envision a world where barren lawns are transformed into vibrant and thriving ecosystems, teeming with diverse plant life and providing sustenance for both humans and pollinators.
Through our collective efforts, we aim to create food forests and pollinator habitats that not only beautify neighborhoods but also serve as sources of nutritious food, educational resources, and havens for biodiversity. By harnessing the power of community collaboration and the principles of permaculture, we seek to empower individuals to take an active role in shaping a more resilient and interconnected future.
Our gardens are not only about producing food; they are about fostering connections, sharing resources, and inspiring others to pay it forward. We believe that by sowing the seeds of kindness and generosity, we can cultivate a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the boundaries of our gardens.
Together, we strive to create a world where every act of kindness and every seed planted contributes to a more sustainable and harmonious future for all beings. Join us as we sow the seeds of change, one garden at a time.
Come grow community with us
At our core, we are a grassroots movement that is built on the flow of good karma between neighbors. As a Pay-It-Forward organization, we rely on helping hands to keep the momentum.

This organization has been around for over 10 years. The project started in 2012 in Mar Vista and transformed 14 lawns.
Since our partnership with Nourish LA in 2024, we’ve had 6 garden events and are scheduling new work parties each month. We’ve transformed front/back yards, parkways, community gardens, and local businesses. Our events attract around 60 volunteers per event and welcome all people from all backgrounds to join.
